Honda Pilot: Exterior Lights System Description - Overview

The exterior lights system includes the exterior lights, the fog lights, the turn signal lights, the automatic lighting system, and the daytime running lights system.

Headlights

The LED headlight system consists of the LED lights, the LED control units, the MICU, the combination light switch, and the gauge control module for lighting indicators. In the event, the LED headlights do not turn on, warning indicator in the gauge control module will be illuminated, and the warning will be displayed on the multi-information display (MID).

Fog Lights (With Fog Light)

The fog light system consists of the front fog lights, the MICU, the combination light switch, and the gauge control module for fog light indicator.

Daytime Running Lights

The daytime running lights system consists of the MICU, the left and right LED headlights, and the parking brake switch. The daytime running lights operate with the vehicle in ON mode, the headlights off (headlight switch OFF or AUTO position), and the parking brake released.

Automatic Lighting System

The automatic lighting system consists of the MICU, the automatic lighting control unit-sensor *2 or, the automatic lighting/rain sensor *1 , the combination light switch, and the multi-information display (MID) for displaying the warning. The system automatically controls the lighting operation. The automatic lighting function detects the luminance in the surroundings and automatically controls ON/OFF of lighting operation by the B-CAN according to the luminance.
