Fuel Leak Check
1. Intake Manifold and Intake Manifold Base - Remove
2. High Pressure Fuel Pump Cover - Remove
3. Fuel Rail Cover - Remove
4. Fuel Leak - Check
- Apply Red Check Spray to the joint of the injectors (A), the
fuel rails (B), and the high pressure fuel pump (C). Set the
probe of the leak detector (Snap-on
Combustible Gas Leak
Detector) on the joint.
- Install the intake manifold base and the intake manifold with
original gaskets.
NOTE: The intake manifold base and the intake manifold
gaskets will be replaced after the fuel leak check.
- Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, but do not start the
engine. After the fuel pump runs for about 2 seconds, the
low pressure fuel line will be pressurized. Repeat this two
or three times, then check for fuel leakage.
- Start the engine. Hold the engine speed at 4,000 rpm for 1
minute, and stop the engine.
- Remove the intake manifold and the intake manifold base.
- Check for fuel leakage at the joint of the injectors, the fuel
rails, and the high pressure fuel pump.

6. High Pressure Fuel Pump Cover - Install
7. Intake Manifold Base and Intake Manifold - Install
NOTE: Install the intake manifold base and the intake manifold
with new gaskets.
