Adjustment

1. Secondary Shaft - Install

1. Install the thrust needle bearing (A) in the direction shown.
2. Install the secondary shaft assembly (B).

2. Secondary Shaft Installation Height - Inspect/ Adjust

1. Install a new gasket (A).
2. Measure the height (B) of the secondary shaft installation between the surface of the gasket (C) and the top of the ball bearing outer race (D), then note the measurement.

3. Remove the 89 mm thrust shim (A).
4. Measure the 89 mm thrust shim thickness.
5. Calculate the thickness of the 89 mm thrust shim using the formula.

Formula:

  89 mm Thrust Shim Thickness = Secondary Shaft Installation Height Standard－ Measurement

  Secondary Shaft Installation Height Standard: 259.10－259.19 mm (10.2008－10.2043 in)

6. Select an 89 mm thrust shim from the following table.

4. 1.06 mm (0.0417 in)
5. 1.13 mm (0.0445 in)

7. 1.27 mm (0.0500 in)
8. 1.34 mm (0.0528 in)
9. 1.41 mm (0.0555 in)
10. 1.48 mm (0.0583 in)
11. 1.55 mm (0.0610 in)
12. 1.62 mm (0.0638 in)
13. 1.69 mm (0.0665 in)
14. 1.76 mm (0.0693 in)
15. 1.83 mm (0.0720 in)
16. 1.90 mm (0.0748 in)
17. 1.97 mm (0.0776 in)
18. 2.04 mm (0.0803 in)
19. 2.11 mm (0.0831 in)
20. 2.18 mm (0.0858 in)

7. Install the selected 89 mm thrust shim (A).

3. Secondary Shaft Remove

1. Remove the secondary shaft assembly (A).
2. Remove the thrust needle bearing (B).
