Honda Pilot: Speaker Removal, Installation, and Test

Removal/Installation

Door Speaker

1. Door Panel - Remove

1. Remove the door panel:
   • Front
   • Rear

2. Door Speaker - Remove

1. Remove the bolt, then lift the door speaker (A) straight up to release the lower clips (B).
2. Disconnect the connector (C), then remove the door speaker.

3. All Removed Parts - Install

1. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.

Tweeter

1. A-Pillar Trim - Remove

2. Tweeter - Remove

3. All Removed Parts - Install

1. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.

Front Center Speaker

1. Dashboard Center Speaker Trim - Remove

2. Front Center - Remove

3. All Removed Parts - Install

1. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.

Satellite Speaker

1. D-Pillar Trim - Remove

2. Satellite Speaker - Remove

3. All Removed Parts - Install

1. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.

Subwoofer

1. Right Rear Side Trim Panel - Remove

2. Subwoofer - Remove

1. Disconnect the connector (A).
2. Remove the harness clip (B).

3. Remove the subwoofer.

3. All Removed Parts - Install

1. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.

Test

Door Speaker

1. Speaker - Test

1. Measure the resistance between terminals No. 1 and No. 2.

   There should be about 4.0 Ω.

2. If the resistance is not as specified, replace the door speaker.

Tweeter

1. Tweeter - Test

1. Measure the resistance between terminal No. 1 and the terminal of the capacitor (A) as shown. There should be about 4.0 Ω. Also visually check the capacitor for damage.
2. If the resistance is not as specified, replace the tweeter.

Front Center Speaker

1. Front Center Speaker - Test

1. Measure the resistance between terminals No. 1 and No. 2.

   There should be about 2.0 Ω.

2. If the resistance is not as specified, replace the center speaker.

Satellite Speaker

1. Satellite Speaker - Test

1. Measure the resistance between terminals No. 1 and No. 2.

   There should be about 4.0 Ω.

2. If the resistance is not as specified, replace the satellite speaker.

Subwoofer

1. Subwoofer - Test

Splash Shield Removal and Installation

Removal/Installation

1. Vehicle - Lift

2. Splash Shield - Remove

3. All Removed Parts - Install

1. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
