Honda Pilot: Sunshade System Description - Control/Function

Manual Operation

The sunshade is activated by pushing the switch to the first detent of the open or close position.

Automatic Operation

The automatic operation of sunshade is activated by pushing the switch to the second detent of the open or close position. The sunshade will automatically open or close completely even if the switch is released.

Auto Reverse Function

When the sunshade is closing and the stopping load is greater than the prescribed value, the sunshade will move in reverse direction momentarily then stop. The control unit detects "Pinching" by checking the pulses output from the pulse sensor in the sunshade motor.

Learning Function

The learning function allows the sunshade to open and close with auto operation. If learning is not completed, the auto operation will not function.

Vehicle OFF Operation

For about 10 minutes after the vehicle is turned to the OFF (LOCK) mode, the sunshade open/close operation with the sunshade switch is available. Closing the driver's door cancels this function.
