Inspection

NOTE:

• If the A/C compressor failure is diagnosed, always use this inspection to check the extent of contamination in the A/C system.
• The parts illustrations are sample. External appearance may vary from model to model.

1. A/C System Contamination - Inspect

Remove a part from the related parts as described in the table. Then, swab inside the part with a cotton swab to see if there is metal, dark grey or black residue.

Replacement

1. A/C Components - Replace

Repair Procedure A

Replace the following parts:

• A/C compressor (A)
• Discharge hose (B)

Repair Procedure B

Replace the following parts:

• A/C compressor (A)
• Discharge hose (B)
• A/C condenser (C)

Repair Procedure C

Replace the following parts:

• A/C compressor (A)
• Discharge hose (B)
• A/C condenser (C)
• Receiver line (D)

Repair Procedure D

Replace the following parts:

• A/C compressor (A)
• A/C condenser (B)
• Expansion valve (C)
• Evaporator core (D)
• All A/C hoses and lines
