Honda Pilot: A/T Oil Seal Replacement

Replacement

NOTE: Unless otherwise indicated, illustrations used in the procedure are for AWD.

Control Shaft Oil Seal

1. Front Bulkhead Cover - Remove

2. Air Intake Tube - Remove

3. Control Shaft Oil Seal - Remove

4. Control Shaft Oil Seal - Install

1. Install the control shaft oil seal (A) using oil seal driver E until the oil seal driver has been fully seated.

5. Air Intake Tube - Install

6. Front Bulkhead Cover - Install

Torque Converter Oil Seal

1. Transmission Assembly - Remove

2. Torque Converter Oil Seal - Remove

3. Torque Converter Oil Seal - Install

1. Install the torque converter oil seal (A) using oil seal driver D until the oil seal driver has been fully seated.

4. Transmission Assembly - Install

Differential Oil Seal (Transmission Housing Side)

1. Left Driveshaft Inboard Joint - Disconnect

NOTE: Secure the driveshaft to the body with a nylon strap.

2. Differential Oil Seal (Transmission Housing Side) - Remove

1. Remove the differential outer oil seal (A).
2. Remove the differential inner oil seal (B).

3. Differential Oil Seal (Transmission Housing Side) - Install

1. Install oil seal installer guide A.
2. Install the differential inner oil seal (A) using the 15 x 135L driver handle and oil seal driver A (the small diameter side) until the oil seal driver has been fully seated.
3. Remove oil seal installer guide A.

4. Turn oil seal driver A upside down, and install the differential outer oil seal (A) using the 15 x 135L driver handle and oil seal driver A (the major diameter side) until the oil seal driver has been fully seated.

4. Left Driveshaft Inboard Joint - Connect

Differential Oil Seal (Torque Converter Housing Side)

1. Transmission Assembly - Remove

2. Differential Oil Seal (Torque Converter Housing Side) - Remove

1. Remove the differential outer oil seal (A).
2. Remove the differential inner oil seal (B).

3. Differential Oil Seal (Torque Converter Housing Side) - Install

1. Install oil seal installer guide A.
2. Install the differential inner oil seal (A) using the 15 x 135L driver handle and oil seal driver B (the major diameter side) until the oil seal driver has been fully seated.
3. Remove oil seal installer guide A.

4. Turn oil seal driver B upside down, and install the differential outer oil seal (A) using the 15 x 135L driver handle and oil seal driver B (the small diameter side) until the oil seal driver has been fully seated.

4. Transmission Assembly - Install

1. ATF - Drain

2. Transfer Assembly - Remove

3. Transfer Output Shaft Oil Seal - Remove

4. Transfer Output Shaft Oil Seal - Install

1. Install oil seal installer guide C.
2. Install the transfer output shaft oil seal (A) using oil seal driver C until the oil seal driver has been fully seated.
3. Remove oil seal installer guide C.

5. Transfer Assembly - Install

• Oil Seal Driver B 070AD-TZ30201

• Oil Seal Driver C 070AD-TZ3A300

• Oil Seal Driver D 070AD-TZ3A400

• Oil Seal Driver E 070AD-TZ3A500

• Oil Seal Installer Guide A 070AG-TZ3A100

• Oil Seal Installer Guide C 070AG-TZ3A300

• Driver Handle, 15 x 135L 07749-0010000
