Honda Pilot: Engine Oil Pan Removal and Installation

Honda Pilot 2016-2022 (YF5/YF6) Service Manual / Remove, Install, Replace, Check info / Engine Oil Pan Removal and Installation

Removal

1. Engine Oil - Drain

2. Under-Floor TWC - Remove

NOTE: Do not remove the front secondary HO2S.

3. Connector (CKP Sensor) - Disconnect

4. Oil Pan - Remove

Honda Pilot. Remove, Install, Replace, Check info

  1. Remove the torque converter cover (A).
  2. Remove the transmission assembly mounting bolts.

Honda Pilot. Remove, Install, Replace, Check info

  1. Remove the bolts securing the oil pan.

Honda Pilot. Remove, Install, Replace, Check info

  1. Using a flat blade screwdriver, separate the oil pan from the engine block in the places shown.

Honda Pilot. Remove, Install, Replace, Check info

  1. Remove the oil pan.

Installation

1. Oil Pan - Install

Honda Pilot. Remove, Install, Replace, Check info

  1. Apply liquid gasket to the oil pan mating surface of the engine block and to the inside edge of the threaded bolt holes.
  2. Install the dowel pins (A).
  3. Install the oil pan.

Honda Pilot. Remove, Install, Replace, Check info

  1. Tighten the bolts in three steps; tighten the bolts until the bolts sit on the oil pan, tighten the bolts until the gasket is compressed, tighten the bolts to specified torque.

Honda Pilot. Remove, Install, Replace, Check info

  1. Tighten the transmission assembly mounting bolts (A).
  2. Install the torque converter cover (B).

2. Connector (CKP Sensor) - Connect

3. Under-Floor TWC - Install

4. Engine Oil - Refill
