and the precautions and procedures before
doing repairs or service.
1. Front Passenger's Seat Recline Cover - Remove
NOTE: If you are removing the front passenger's seat recline
cover, you do not need to remove the front passenger's seat.
2. Front Passenger's Power Seat Motor - Test
- Test the motor by applying power and ground at the front
passenger's power seat adjustment switch connector on
the seat harness side according to the table. When the
motor stops running, disconnect battery power immediately.
- If the motor does not run or fails to run smoothly, test each
motor:
- Go to Slide Motor Test
- Go to Recline Motor Test

3. Slide Motor - Test
- Remove the front passenger's seat.
- Disconnect the slide motor connector.
- Test each motor by connecting power and ground
according to the table. When the motor stops running,
disconnect battery power immediately.
- If the motor does not run or fails to run smoothly, the slide
motor (A) is faulty; replace the slide motor/seat rail.
NOTE: The slide motor is part of the seat rail.
4. Recline Motor - Test
- Remove the passenger's seat-back
cover/pad.
- Disconnect the recline motor connector.
- Test each motor by connecting power and ground
according to the table. When the motor stops running,
disconnect battery power immediately.
- If the motor does not run or fails to run smoothly, the recline
motor (A) is faulty; replace the recline motor/seat frame.
NOTE: The recline motor is part of the seat frame.
5. All Removed Parts - Install
- Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
