Honda Pilot: Front Passenger's Weight Sensor Unit Removal and Installation

Removal/Installation

SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations and the precautions and procedures before doing repairs or service.

1. 12 Volt Battery Terminal - Disconnect

NOTE: Wait at least 3 minutes before starting work.

2. Front Passenger's Weight Sensor Unit - Remove

Honda Pilot. Remove, Install, Replace, Check info

  1. Disconnect the connectors (A).
  2. Remove the front passenger's weight sensor unit (B) from the bracket (C).

    NOTE: While separating the front passenger's weight sensor unit from the bracket, use a flat-tipped screwdriver (D) to push and release it from the bracket.

3. All Removed Parts - Install

  1. Install the all removed parts in the reverse order of removal.

NOTE:

  • Make sure the front passenger's weight sensor unit is properly installed. You will hear a click when the front passenger's weight sensor unit is securely mounted on the bracket.
  • Make sure the front passenger's weight sensor unit has the latest software. If it does not have the latest, update the software in the front passenger's weight sensor unit.
  • After replacing the front passenger's weight sensor unit with a new one, initialize the front passenger's weight sensor unit.

4. SRS Operation - Confirm

1. Front Pillar Corner Trim - Remove

Honda Pilot. Remove, Install, Replace, Check info

2. All Removed Parts - Install

  1. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
