Removal
1. Engine Undercover - Remove
2. Transmission Fluid - Drain
3. Right Driveshaft - Remove
4. Intermediate Shaft - Remove
- Remove the under-floor TWC.
- Remove the stiffener prate.
- Remove the heat shield bolts (A).
- Remove the intermediate shaft bolts (A).
- Remove the intermediate shaft and the heat shield
assembly (B).
NOTE: Hold the intermediate shaft horizontal until it is clear
of the differential to prevent damaging the oil seal (C).
Installation
1. Intermediate Shaft - Install
- Clean the areas where the intermediate shaft contacts the
differential thoroughly with solvent.
NOTE: Do not wash the rubber parts with solvent.
- Dry the areas where the intermediate shaft contacts the
differential thoroughly with compressed air.
- Apply Honda SPLINE WR GREASE (P/N 04360-5P8-305)
to the intermediate shaft (A) as shown.
- Install the intermediate shaft and heat shield assembly (B).
NOTE: Insert the intermediate shaft carefully to prevent
damaging the oil seal (C).
- Install the heat shield bolts (A).
- Install the under-floor TWC.
- Install the stiffener prate.
2. Right Driveshaft - Install
3. Intermediate Shaft - After Install Check
- Turn the wheel by hand, and make sure there is no
interference between the driveshaft and surrounding parts.
4. Transmission Fluid - Refill
5. Wheel Alignment - Check
6. Test Drive - Check
