Honda Pilot: Park Pin Switch Removal and Installation

Honda Pilot 2016-2022 (YF5/YF6) Service Manual / Remove, Install, Replace, Check info / Park Pin Switch Removal and Installation

Removal/Installation

NOTE: The park pin switch and the shift lock unit are not available separately. Remove the park pin switch and the shift lock unit as a set.

1. Shift Lock Unit - Remove

2. All Removed Parts - Install

  1. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.

Parking and Back-Up Sensor Control Unit Removal and Installation

Removal/Installation

1. Parking and Back-Up Sensor Control Unit - Remove

Honda Pilot. Remove, Install, Replace, Check info

  1. Loosen the TORX bolt (A) using a TORX E8 socket.
  2. Remove the parking and back-up sensor control unit (B) with the bracket (C).
  3. Disconnect the connector (D).
  4. Remove the bracket.

2. All Removed Parts - Install

  1. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.

    NOTE: If the bolt threads of the steering hanger beam are stripped, replace the bolts with one-size larger bolts (available as a service part), which are specifically designed to tighten the instrument panel to the specified torque setting.

Parking and Back-Up Sensor Switch Removal and Installation

Removal/Installation

1. Driver's Dashboard Lower Cover - Remove

2. Parking and Back-Up Sensor Switch - Remove

Honda Pilot. Remove, Install, Replace, Check info

NOTE: The mounting position of the parking and back-up sensor switch (A) is different depending on the model.

3. All Removed Parts - Install

  1. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
