Power Window Master Switch

The power window master switch has a built-in B-CAN transceiver and a LIN transceiver. The power window master switch sends signals from the LIN to front passenger's power window switch and to the moonroof motor-control unit.

Front Passenger's Power Window Switch

Front passenger's power window switch has a built-in control unit. Control is performed by receiving signals from the power window master switch via the LIN.

Power Window Motors

The motor includes the pulse sensors that detect window's position and direction with the motor rotation. The rotating direction (up/down) is detected with the rotating cycles from the 2 pulse sensors and the moving amount (window position) is also detected by considering 4 pulses as one rotation pulse.

Power Windows System Description - Control/Function

Basic Control/Function

  • Manual Up/Down Function The 1-step operation of the power window switch moves the window up or down. This is available during the vehicle in the ON mode or the vehicle OFF operation.
  • Auto Up/Down Function (Front Windows Only) The 2-step operation of the power window switch moves the window up or down. This is available during the vehicle in the ON mode or the vehicle OFF operation.

Auto Reverse Power Window Function

When some object is detected during the AUTO UP operation, the window stops closing and reverses about 70 mm (2.76 in). If the window is less than halfway opened (about 220 mm (8.66 in) ), it will reverse to half open position (about 220 mm (8.66 in) ). In manual operation, this function is active only during the vehicle OFF operation. This function is activated based on the calculation of the rotation speed and load change of the motor's pulse A.

Rear A/C System Description - Overview

The rear HVAC unit is integrated into the front HVAC unit, which is located behind the instrument panel. This makes the HVAC system smaller and lighter. This new HVAC system operates and functions as effectively as the conventional one. The rear HVAC system controls the temperature and the air-flow to the rear seat area (independently of the front HVAC system). The system has its own blower motor, blower power transistor, air mix control motor, mode control motor, evaporator temperature sensor, etc. while sharing the A/C condenser, evaporator core, and the heater unit with the front HVAC system. The system can be either controlled using the rear or front climate control panel. The climate control unit and the rear control panel communicate via the LIN communication line. If there are any communication problems in the front or rear HVAC system, a DTC is stored.

NOTE: This illustration is an example only. The appearance and structure of the actual parts may vary depending on the model.
