NOTE:
-
Replace the carrier bearing with a new one whenever the bearing outer race is replaced.
- Adjust the preload after replacing the bearing and the outer race.
- Apply a light coat of clean ATF on all parts before installation.
- Unless otherwise indicated, illustrations used in the procedure are for AWD.
1. Differential Carrier Bearing Outer Race - Remove

- Remove the carrier bearing outer race (A), the spacer (B),
and the 85 mm thrust shim (C) by heating the transmission
housing to about 212 ºF (100 ºC) using a heat gun (D).
NOTE: Do not heat the transmission housing more than
212 ºF (100 ºC).
2. Differential Carrier Bearing Outer Race - Install

- Install the 85 mm thrust shim (A).
- Install the spacer (B) by aligning the tab (C) with the groove
(D).
- Install the carrier bearing outer race (E).

- Driver Handle, 15 x 135L 07749-0010000

- Attachment, 83 mm 07HAD-SG00100
