Honda Pilot: Front Seat Belt Removal and Installation

Removal/Installation

NOTE: SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations and the precautions and procedures before doing repairs or service.

Driver's Side

1. Battery Terminal - Disconnect

NOTE: Wait at least 3 minutes before starting work.

2. Front Seat Belt Upper Anchor Bolt - Remove

1. Remove the front seat belt upper anchor bolt cover (A).

1. Remove the front seat belt upper anchor (A).

3. B-Pillar Lower Trim - Remove

4. Front Seat Belt Assembly- Remove

1. Disconnect the connector (A), and then remove the outer lap pretensioner (B).

2. Disconnect the connector (A).
3. Remove the lower anchor bolt, and then remove the front seat belt assembly (B).

5. All Removed Parts - Install

1. Install the parts reverse order of removal.

Upper anchor bolt installation

NOTE:

• Make sure that the outer pretensioner bracket (A) is fixed in the hole (B) on the B-pillar.
• Assemble the bushing (C), the collars (D), and the toothed lock washer (E) on the bolt (F) as shown.
• Apply medium strength type liquid thread lock to the upper anchor bolt before reinstallation.

Passenger's Side

1. Battery Terminal - Disconnect

NOTE: Wait at least 3 minutes before starting work.

2. Front Seat Belt Lower Anchor Connector - Remove

1. Insert the seat belt disassembly tool plate (A) into holes (B) in the lap connector (C).
2. Push the seat belt disassembly tool plate.

3. Release the front seat belt anchor connector (A) upward from the lap connector (B).
4. Remove the seat belt disassembly tool plate (C).

3. Front Seat Belt Upper Anchor Bolt - Remove

1. Remove the front seat belt upper anchor bolt cover (A).

2. Remove the front seat belt upper anchor (A).

4. B-Pillar Lower Trim - Remove

5. Front Seat Belt Assembly- Remove

1. Disconnect the connector (A).
2. Remove the lower anchor bolts, and then remove the front seat belt assembly (B).

6. Front Seat Belt Outer Lap Pretensioner - Remove

Power Seat

Manual Seat

1. Remove the passenger's front seat.
2. Remove the recline outer cover.
3. Disconnect the connector (A).
4. Remove the harness clips (B).

5. Remove the seat belt outer lap pretensioner (A).

7. All Removed Parts - Install

1. Install the parts reverse order of removal.

NOTE:

• Make sure that the outer pretensioner bracket (A) is fixed in the hole (B) on the seat frame.
• Assemble the bushing (C), the collars (D), and the toothed lock washer (E) on the bolt (F) as shown.
• Apply medium strength type liquid thread lock to the upper anchor bolt before reinstallation.
