Honda Pilot: Torque Converter Housing Secondary Shaft Bearing Replacement

Replacement

1. Secondary Shaft Bearing - Remove

1. Remove the secondary shaft bearing (A) using the 45－75 mm adjustable bearing puller and a commercially available 3/8"-16 slide hammer (B).

2. Cover the tip of the 1st clutch ATF feed pipe (A) with a shop rag.
3. Apply air pressure to the ATF feed pipe hole (B) of the 1st clutch hydraulic circuit.
4. Remove the ATF guide collar (C), the O-rings (D), the 28.6 x 40.8 x 13 mm secondary shaft bearing (E), and the ATF feed pipe assembly (F).
5. Remove the O-ring (G).

2. Secondary Shaft Bearing - Install

1. Install a new O-ring (A) on the ATF feed pipe assembly (B).
2. Install the ATF feed pipe assembly by aligning the finger (C) with the groove (D).

3. Install a new 28.6 x 40.8 x 13 mm bearing (A).
4. Install new O-rings (B) on the ATF guide collar (C).
5. Install the guide collar by aligning the finger (D) with the groove (E).

6. Install the secondary shaft bearing (A) until it bottoms in the direction shown using the 15 x 135L driver handle and the 62 x 68 mm bearing driver attachment.

Special Tool Required

• Adjustable Bearing Puller, 45－75 mm 07YAC-0010102*

• Bearing Driver Attachment, 62 x 68 mm 07746-0010500

• Driver Handle, 15 x 135L 07749-0010000

*: 07YAC-0010100 must be used with commercially available 3/8"-16 slide hammer.
